I Got Curtains!

October 31st, 2007 Comments(2)

In my dorm. Finally. Took them long enough to sew them.

I'm Disgusted

October 26th, 2007 Comments(0)

I thought I did okay for my Business Communication presentation today, but when I looked at the video of my presentation, it was so WTF. *Cringes*

And knowing you're going to be videoed is so stressful.

Charging For Cybersex

So if someone hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known that you can actually charge for cybersex in SecondLife. Interesting.

YAY S/U Option

To: NUS Undergraduate Students Admitted in AY2006-07 and Before

A circular from the NUS Provost, Prof Tan Eng Chye, on the latest revision to the policy on the “Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory” option is now available.

In brief, the University, in consultation with NUSSU, agrees to:

(i) allow all existing students, not just new students, to exercise the S/U option after the release of module results with immediate effect from this semester; consequently the S/U declaration exercise scheduled for Week 6 has been postponed to after the release of results;

(ii) conduct a one-off exercise to allow existing students admitted in AY2006-07 and before, to re-consider their previously exercised S/U options and decide whether to retract their S/U and re-instate their original grade, and

(iii) further amend the S/U policy to allow all students to exercise their S/U option even in the final graduation semester after the release of results.

Thank you.

Whee!!!

Facebook

October 16th, 2007 Comments(8)

So reverie caved in and finally started using Facebook to avoid Cessy's constant badgering. :P And realised that some people really don't want to talk to her unless it's through some stupid social networking site. *Sniff*

The Net is Full of Temptations

October 12th, 2007 Comments(2)

Sometimes it takes all my willpower not to drain my Paypal account. And use my debit card while I’m at it. I should stop surfing the Net because at every corner I turn there are things like rave reviews of beauty products, Taiwan fashion clothing auctions, and online fashion boutiques that have pretty clothes I can’t try on.

The fates brought me to Tobi.com. Their paige jeans look so fab. How come my jeans don’t fit me like that? Are they too cheap and lousy or do I need to diet? (The answer is probably, sadly both. *Sniff*)

The model is wearing like a size 25? Hah. I remember once upon a time that used to be loose for me. Those were the days. But there’s apparently an online stylist on their website who I can chat with! Hmm… Nope, doesn’t seem to work. *Opens Firefox* Doesn’t work either. Damn. I wonder if NUS's connection is fux0red again.

Anyway, I want one of these vince sweaters.

Actually, nope. Too unsuitable for Singapore's sweltering weather. But oooh, chic. This one looks more suitable:

I don’t know what vince sweaters are, just like I don’t know what paige jeans are. These fashion terms are pretty beyond me, but whatever looks nice, looks nice. I’m a sucker for basics. Check out the diesel sweaters as well. For men though. Looks like men are not spared from these visual temptations.

Citation Woes

October 11th, 2007 Comments(4)

I completely understand the need to cite your sources when writing papers and reports. Yes, I do. But why on this sodding fucked up Earth must we adhere to rigid styles to cite the references? It's a huge time sink, a needless frustration. Just state where the sources are from! I just don't fucking get it.

Oh, no matter what you do, do not get enticed by EndNote. It's a horribly buggy piece of software that makes Microsoft Word flicker non-stop, removes your bullets, and does other strange things like add weird borders around your graphs. Even after uninstalling it, it was still doing strange things to my computer. I had to do a system restore.

Gift From PGP

October 10th, 2007 Comments(0)

Look at what the management of Prince George's Park Residences gave me! Insecticide and a thermometer. Apparently, this gift set is in vogue for Hari Raya Puasa!

I kid. There have been cases of dengue fever in PGP or something. Sarabelle is freaked. Wouldn't giving us insect repellent be better, huh? Now my room is going to just... stink.
