Fuqn PGP Services

After a full year of enduring expensive yet crappy food, and then having to pay exorbitant prices if I want to buy stuff from Georgie's Mart, which is now renamed to Nanyang Supermart or whateverie, I decided I just had about enough. Headed down to the office to file a complaint and basically told them that this is a school, we shouldn't be paying exorbitant prices when their rental is so freaking cheap.

I don't know if they'll care, but hey, at least I've done something.

Blogging on the Bus

Blogging on the school shuttle.

Went to the campus doctor today because I was so freaked about the numbness in my legs yesterday. He told me it was alright, and ended up prescribing meds for my eczema instead. o.O I guess my feet must be a horrifying sight. The scars from the lacerations I got in Hong Kong and the scratches I got from falling down on Monday combined with my eczema. Gawd.

But... it was free! No charge for the meds, no charge for the consultation. I should've gone there for every little thing.

On another note. I gained another 1kg. WTFBBQ!!111 And my ankles pretty much rendered exercise impossible for the next 3 weeks, minimum. No more curry puffs!

Got the keyboard on my notebook replaced, no questions asked. Found out the dude getting his notebook serviced ahead of me had exactly the same problems. Damned Acers. But well, I thought the 'repair' would take a couple of days, at least. At least I don't have to live without Internet connection!

Lousy Monday

Yesterday: Fell down, sprained both my ankles, though one less severely than the other. It hurt all through the night but today when I decided to go see the doc, it's suddenly much, much better.

My keyboard acts the same way. Just when I was about to send the laptop for repair, the spacebar, which has been wonky since the beginning of time, decides to behave.

My Current Room

Well, it looked a lot more depressing without my stuff in it. It doesn't seem so bad right now. But some of my power points do not work. Not to mention, there is only ONE wall lamp which is too freaking dim. I had to borrow a table lamp from the office. Pictures!

Cheap Ink

August 25th, 2007 Comments(0)

I was tempted to get a new printer from Comex because, as you may have read, Brother printers may possibly be the largest pieces of shit to ever grace this Earth. But it was just too much hassle, and so I decided that I should simply not buy their ink and go completely 3rd-party. I replaced the black ink previously with the original cartridge. It cost $30ish. As far as I'm concerned, that is $30ish too much.

And so Inkrefillservice.com is the answer to my prayers. Not only do I not have to shift my ass at all to get new ink, it cost less to refill all the cartridges than it did for me to get an original black cartridge. Looove. For such a brilliant business model, they get a free plug!

PGP Staff

I went to check in to Prince George's Park Residences today, and was really surprised at how nice the staff members that attended to me were! Either they had a complete overhaul of their staff, or they all were sent for training. They were really quite nasty previously.

My room is quite frankly... terrible. But, I'll live. More on that when I have visuals.

Back to the staff. My phone's battery was about to go flat and I had to meet Agnes in the evening. And the dude at the counter let me use the phone! Previously, the counter staff would've given me a death glare, probably. *Stunned*

More on the Odex Issue

A good read. It's so hard to find local bloggers who can string a couple of words together without sounding like they've never been through primary school. Having someone who can put together a coherent entry in a clear and concise manner... Wow.

More Rants

Somehow I just forget to blog when school starts. My first day of school was on Wednesday, and I spent 45 minutes just getting lost in the School of Computing. NUS needs serious help with signages. I know I'm totally retarded when it comes to directions, but I daresay I'm not the only one. I was half an hour late for my lecture. I barely even warmed my seat when the lecturer finished her lecture! And it was supposed to be a 2-hour lecture!

And oh, I may not have mentioned this, but I won a Brother printer last year. It is the largest piece of crap I've ever used. Thank goodness I didn't fork out any money for it!

1. It performs cleaning automatically and often, sucking out ink when it does so.
2. It declares the ink catridges as empty when they are most certainly not.
3. As long as there is even ONE ink catridge that is empty, nothing will print, even if you just want to use the fuqn black ink.

I am never buying another Brother product. Ever. Stick to manufacturing sewing machines, you morons.

Product Love

So I got sick of my icky, frizzy and tangled hair. The ends were so horrid that even Pei said ewww when she saw them. (And she's the one whose ends split into multiple strands!) Went out, saw this new product of Dove's called Straight & Silky hair treatment (the tub in beige colour), bought it without thinking.

Loooove. <3 I am absolutely in love with my hair right now. It is straight. It is silky. And it is most certainly not frizzy. I feel like I'm in a shampoo ad. I've never been more satisfied with my hair.

[edit]Dove DID NOT pay me!

I managed to get my schedule in order and both the computing electives I wanted. Phew. Now I'm just hoping for a good ol' 3-day week. Hopefully tutorial balloting doesn't screw up.
