My Haul From Thailand

January 31st, 2005 Comments(10)

I didn't get very much. Spent about S$150 in total including food, transport, tips, airport tax, and shopping stuff.

Purple glittery halter and skirt, S$8.47 each. The photo just doesn't do them justice.

Black corduroy pleated skirt, S$6.38. A real bargain!

Cheongsam-ish sleeveless top, S$3.36. Grabbed it the moment I saw it. Wish it were a halter though.

Dark green halter, S$3.61. I just wanted to use up all my Thai bhat by then.

Dark striped flip flops, S$2.12. Stripes, so Cessy.

The bigger striped pouch, S$1.06. Striped handphone pouch, S$0.85. Piggy pouch, $1.27. Isn't it the cutest little thing?

I bought a pretty pair of earrings that look like a little pair of dangly purple slippers for S$0.85. But I can't get a decent picture of them no matter how hard I try. Got a couple of bras too. S$19.55 and S$26.56. The rest of the stuff weren't bought for myself, so I shall not show them. :D

3-Year-Old Boy Given Back To Birth Mother

Reading the news makes me want to cry. First some 66-year-old deems it fit to give birth and mess with her child's life, now this. Kids shouldn't be given back to their biological parents after adoption. They gave the kids up, they should deal with it.

These things make me so angry.

The Many Faces Of Reverie

January 19th, 2005 Comments(14)

Found FaceAnalyser via BlogClicker (am enjoying it, loads of interesting blogs). Been playing with it all morning when I should be studying for Advertising & Promotion.

The results:

The analysis said this picture makes me 89% Southern European and 11% Anglo Saxon. That is verrrry funny. :P

And this makes me 100% South East Asian. (What the hell does that mean?)

This majorly unflattering photo makes me 100% Korean/Japanese. Funny how these 2 races are lumped together. They don't look quite the same.

In this one, I'm 23% Korean/Japanese, and 77% Chinese.

And lastly, here's an accurate one. 100% Chinese. *Nods*

World's Oldest Mother

World's Oldest Mother at 66

Nice to know that she's been given a "new lease of life". Just wondering... Is it really right to be giving birth when you may just kick the bucket soon?

Selfish, if you ask me. Just look at what the poor baby girl had to go through even before she was born. After which she would be saddled with either bereavement at an early age or the responsibility of caring for an infirm mother just when she has started to hit her teens. And all because of her selfish motive of not being able "to resign [herself] to not having a child".

Some things are just not meant to happen. That's why we have menopause.

BlogClicker

I signed up with BlogClicker today, just for the heck of it. Don't really know how it works yet, since I didn't sign up with BlogExplosion. It's supposed to increase traffic to your blog, which I don't really care about. But I get a whole list of blogs to surf and that's great.

Oh, there's BlogCrowd too.

My Non-Serious To Do List

January 17th, 2005 Comments(5)

Note to self:

  • Attempt to contact Kig in Thailand and hope for a possible meetup.
  • Make an extensive shopping list for the 5-day trip in Bangkok.

I'm going to Bangkok on a school trip! We are actually supposed to be buying back Thai merchandise to set up our kiosk with for Retail Management. But my group has decided to get something locally instead, because Thai merchandise is what everyone will be selling.

Basically, just going there shopping. Whee!

Nasty Online Idiots

See that little x on the top right corner of the screen? That's right. Click on it. No more reverie bitchiness. Isn't that nice? I call it the 'freedom of movement'.

*Yawns* Off to study Customer Relationship Management. Nasty test tomorrow.

Stop Procrastinating

January 17th, 2005 Comments(3)

I should learn to stop procrastinating. I am still up studying Retail Management at this hour for tomorrow's test. Am feeling woozy too.

Went to the Robinsons warehouse sale today, and got some essentials for school. If you had told me 2 years ago that a leather case and makeup would be essentials for school, I would've laughed at you. Too bad I'm being graded appearances-wise as well when it comes to presentations.

Oh, someone with too much time on her hands has decided to spark off a debate on seemingly baseless grounds, accusing me of not doing my part for charity. So check it out before the comments stop amusing me and start annoying me. Am glad I blogged that entry though. Because Fei Xiang does make some good eye candy for my blog. :)

Innovative Fund-raising Methods

Fei Xiang, aka Kris Phillips (that's his real name, bet you didn't know :P), put a strand of his chest hair on auction and raised S$7,700! Holy crap!!! As hunky as this American-Chinese dude may be (I am not sure if he still is), why the hell would anyone contemplate buying his chest hair?

I think I'm feeling a little nauseous.
